Tools of the trade:
I love having a coffee/nut/spice grinder to make my own flours (e.g. oat, almond, buckwheat), make icing sugar from xylitol and even small batches of nut butter. This is a great version KitchenAid Blade Coffee Grinder
I use sugar substitutes a lot in my baking. In Australia, you can get rice malt syrup from both Coles and Woolworths in the health food aisle. I buy xylitol at my local health food shop or you can get it here where they have some good sale prices.
Favourite cook books:
Stephanie Alexander's The Cook's Companion: The Complete Book of Ingredients and Recipes for the Australian Kitchen
Ellie Krieger's Food You Crave, The: Luscious Recipes for a Healthy Life
Lee Holme's Eat Yourself Beautiful: Supercharged Food
Teresa Cutter's The 80/20 Diet (The Healthy Chef Book 1)
Sarah Wilson's I Quit Sugar for Life. She also has a great range of e-books, I Quit Sugar Chocolate Cookbook,
Fitness:
I love the Nike Training App and the website Bodyrock.tv for HIIT workouts - both are free too!
I use my Gymboss Interval Timer for most workouts. You can get a variety of free and paid apps that do the same thing but I don't like to use my phone at the gym or worry about keeping it safe in my pocket. The Gymboss is small, easy to use and clips on easily.
