JJ is now 5 months old but I thought I'd still share his nursery with you.
The Boori cot was given to us by my Uncle when MJ was born, so JJ is now the fourth occupant and it is still going strong. I brought the change table from ebay for $30, again when MJ was born, and I stained it to match the cot. The baskets are from The Reject Shop. I kept all of MJ's bedding.
I made the wall art using embroidery hoops picked up from Lincraft and Spotlight when they went on special. Depending on size they cost $3-6. I picked a selection of fabrics I liked from Spotlight, stretched them over the hoops and used some craft glue to keep the material in place. I also covered a cardboard 'J' with material to mix it up.
I picked up the chest of drawers on Ebay for $100. The bunting was a lovely gift made by our friend Claise (you can find more of her lovely things here).
I made his birth notice print on PicMonkey and printed it for 9c at Kmart. The teddy was a gift from my brother and SIL. The frame was a present from my sister.
I loved this poem(?) I found on the great wide web and made my own version on Word and printed it as an A3 poster on a coloured photocopier - it was free as printed it it at work! The frame was $10 at Target.
This frame was a lucky find at Target - the photo mat was the perfect colour to match the print I'd made and was marked down to $5. I printed the photos at Kmart at 9c each.
The cube money box was JJ's Christmas present from my sister, the ship money box was from my Mum and Dad and we bought his baby book - which reminds me I must keep filling that in!
This was a chair we had in the living room at our old house. When we moved I kept is as my night feeding chair, thankfully JJ is a champ and the night feeds stopped at 7 weeks. The pom poms were $2 each at our local 'cheap shop' - they were originally hung over his cot but when the fan was installed they were chucked into the corner. The cushion was $10 at Kmart and the blanket was $25 on sale at Target.
All in all, considering I didn't spend a lot, I am happy with how it came together. I would also like to add some shelves and open cube storage which will provide more decorating opportunities!
So tell me, did you save or splurge on your nursery?
Keep smiling
Dani xx
